This is an open channel with flat top edge for Flow Over A Notch experiment on HB 100G Hydraulics Bench gravimetric or HB 101 Basic Hydraulics Bench.

The unit is to be placed on top of HB 100G or HB 101. Water is admitted to the channel via a discharge diffuser and passes through a perforated sheet. Water is discharged over a detachable weir plate to the end section before draining to the storage tank. A hook and point gauge are placed on the channel top edge for water level measurement. The channel has adjustable footings.

This is a service unit which provides water supply and gravimetric measurement for use in conjunction with other accessories for specific experiments (separately supplied).

The bench top is flat fiber glass with a raised edge to hold spilled water and has a quick coupling water outlet, water discharge tube as well as 4 drain holes. The experiment accessories on the bench top discharges water to the measuring tank via a tube. A measuring tank is hung on a cantilever beam on ball bearings. An adjustable tare weight and calibrated weights are provided. This apparatus is for demonstrating the liquid vaporization under low pressure due to high flow velocity such as when water flows through a restriction in a pipe or a water passage. It is to be used with Hydraulics Bench i.e. HB100 or HB100N (separately supplied) for a water supply and flow measurement.

The test section is a transparent Venturi for vapor observation. Pressure and vacuum gauges are connected to pressure tappings at the upstream end and throat respectively of the test section. This equipment is designed to study laminar flow in two dimensions. It is to be used with Hydraulics Bench i.e. HB100 or HB100N (separately supplied) for a water supply and flow measurement.

Two horizontal plates are placed closely together with seals on side edges.  The top plate is transparent and has a transparent grid to help observe stream line patterns.  This plate is removable to insert or remove models.  The bottom plate has small holes which are connected by valves to a water supply or source and a drain or sink.  Water is admitted through a diffuser at one end and drained at the other end. Stream lines are produced by regulating a flow of dye from a reservoir through a series of very small holes at the upstream end.  

The set rests on adjustable screw supports with bull’s eye level.

This equipment is designed to produce and measure free and forced vortices. It is to be used with Hydraulics Bench i.e. HB100 or HB100N (separately supplied) for a water supply and flow measurement.

The equipment consists of a clear acrylic cylindrical tank inside which is another smaller perforated clear acrylic cylinder. The tank is rotated by a small motor. A small hole is provided at the center of the bottom of the tank. A forced vortex is formed when a fixed amount of water is contained in the rotating vessel. A free vortex is formed when water is admitted at the annulus and drain through the bottom hole. A cross bar with scale and a sliding probe holder are provided above the vessel. Water surface profile is measured by a depth probe attached to the cross bar. A transparent tube with built-in pitot probe to measure total head is also attached to the cross bar.
